Grandmother/Granddaughter Bonding

So today was fun. I got up this morning, got ready, had a bowl of cereal, and then my grandma and I were off to spend some time together!

Our first stop was the hair salon where we both got our hair trimmed/cut. Grandma got her usual trim. I got an overall trim (about an inch) and then got some shape put in to frame my face better. I think it turned out pretty good. We both looked lovely.
Next we heading to JCPenny’s to do some shopping. Grandma had a coupon that was $15 off of $15 - so basically free clothes. Haha. We only shopped for me because she went shopping the other day and couldn’t find anything. I shopped the sales racks (of course) and found 4 things each for $5. I bought a black top, a forest green top, green capris, and red capris. So yea, I got $20 worth of clothes for $5. It was pretty lovely. Ha.
Then - we headed to the nail salon. I got white acrylic tips and Grandma got that gel nail polish. After our nails were finished we headed to Panera Bread for a quick lunch.

But yea - I had a great time getting to spend some personal time with my grandma. She’s pretty awesome. For the rest of the day we pretty much did our own thing. I worked on homework..she mowed the grass and made dinner..but the time we spent together was awesome. I am looking forward to spending the next 8 weeks with her!

…and for those wondering - my grandpa was off doing some work while we were out =P Haha

So, for those who don’t know - I am going to be spending the next 8-9 weeks in Canton, Ohio for an internship. I am living with my grandparents and am very excited to be here spending time with my family.

I am keeping a separate blog that will contain things specifically about my internship —> jessicalleachpg.tumblr.com <— so feel free to check that one out as well =)
And for those of you concerned, the PG stands for Players Guild (where I am interning) - ha, I’m so clever with names.

I am going to be using this blog to put more stuff regarding my life outside of the internship, so hopefully I will be able to keep up with both. I am so bad at blogging though, so I can’t make any promises. I can promise the internship blog will get AT LEAST weekly updates because I am required to do so for my entrepreneurship minor. I am just hoping that I can keep up with this one as well because this summer is going to be a lot of fun for me and I want to keep everyone updated!

I left my camera uploading cable at home but I am having my dad mail it to me, so hopefully I will be able to start putting more pictures and stuff up here as well for you guys to enjoy.

That’s all for now. I’ve enjoyed my time in Ohio so far (a solid day and a half) and am hoping it continues. I will be heading to Columbus this weekend to visit some aunts, uncles, and cousins, so I will keep you posted on that =)

Feeling kind of bummed.

Things had been going fairly well recently. I mean, they haven’t been phenomenal by any means, but I haven’t really had anything to complain about. Well, guess that was supposed to be short lived. Here is why:

I was wanting to live off campus next year. I am going to be a senior, and only going to be here for one more semester, and so I wanted to be off campus. I got spoiled being an RA because I didn’t have a roommate, and I would like to avoid having a roommate if at all possible. My parents were supportive of this - until all of a sudden they told me (today) that they wanted me to live on campus. Why? Because for no reason…they just hate me. Ha. They seriously have no good reason since it will probably be cheaper for me to live off campus. I am trying to save them money! They just want me to be miserable. Seriously though - if I end up living on campus and having a roommate, I might need to be medicated for depression.

Secondly, I thought my parents had agreed to give me a car next year. Or..not give me a car..but let me borrow one for the time being. One: because I was going to be living off campus; and two: so I could actually go and do things and enjoy myself. Well, that was short lived as well since they think parking on campus sucks.

This is just leading to be a terrible senior year. I am still fighting and I am trying to make the best of things…but I mean, I hate school. I don’t want to be here. I wanted to make my last semester as tolerable as possible, and right now that is looking very unlikely. So yay…

…sorry for the depressing post, but it’s how I feel. I am completely bummed right now.

I haven’t really done much today. I was on duty last night and got called twice. One was at 11:45pm and one was at 12:30am. It could have been worse. Still - I was exhausted this morning.

I had to have the phone in the office by 9am but didn’t have class until 10am, so after I dropped the phone off I decided to go get some coffee and chicken mini’s from Chick-Fil-A. I would say that is a fairly good way to start the morning.

I went to class at 10, which is my only class on Fridays, and then came back to my room and slept for 2 hours. Naps are wonderful. I would suggest everyone take naps when they can. Unless it’s like a short power nap - I do not condone those. They generally leave people, or at least me, feeling worse than before I took the nap.

Anyways - that’s really all I have done today. I have worked on homework a little bit and will continue to do so….and I might apply for a couple of internships in New York, but yea, it’s been a pretty chill day. A pretty chill, boring day. My life.

Every time I see 11:11 appear on my phone/clock I just laugh a little and walk away. I’ve spent too many days wishing upon it and not having my wishes come true to waste my time anymore.

…and in all seriousness, I feel like the opposite always happens. Stupid wishes.

I technically still have one more class left, but it is glee club…so that doesn’t really count. Anyways, I only had one class today at 10:00am (advertising and public relations). It was nice. Not too early. The teacher is really nice. Hopefully it won’t become too difficult as the semester goes on. The class has 4 exams (multiple choice, not cumulative), 2 writing assignments (which I think are two pages each), and a research participation thing - so that isn’t too bad. I actually like participating in research studies. I think they are fun…and they are easy so at least I will have an A on that portion.

So other than class I have just been sitting around today kind of relaxing. Did some reading for class on Friday (look at me getting ahead). Made myself a decent lunch. Been singing and jamming out. Good times, good times. I have a feeling my Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays are going to be decently relaxing….then again, I haven’t really calculated in how much work I will be doing for my three classes on Tuesdays/Thursdays. I’m sure I will be fine.

Class confusion...

I am registered for RELI 142, so I go to sakai to see if it had appeared yet only to find RELI 140 present. I got a welcome message from the teacher of 140 (who is the same teacher as 142) welcoming us to the class and saying he is excited to see us tomorrow (let me just mention that 142 does NOT meet tomorrow). Obviously I was confused, so I went to connect carolina to make sure I did register for 142. I did. So I go back to sakai and the RELI 140 that had popped up just moments before had mysteriously disappeared. Poor teacher. I think he is confused. So now I am just going to sit and wait for my actual class to appear — hopefully.

Starting Fresh.

I decided to take this blog and start fresh. I hadn’t been using it a really long time, and a lot of my past posts were about the life that I no longer want. So I deleted most of my old posts, minus a couple, and am taking this moment to start things over.
